From the lack of content on my blog and Instagram recently, I think it’s fair to say I’ve felt pretty ‘bored’ when it comes to my blog and social media pages. In the past few weeks, I’ve found that my Instagram account has become a chore. I haven’t been excited about any of the photography, editing, or creativity of the content I was publishing.
My blog and my social media accounts were meant to be places where I could share my creativity and passion. Whether it was my writing, my photography, sharing my love for fashion, or my travels, it was always meant to inspire and motivate others.
In the past few weeks, I’ve put time into taking pictures and putting together looks but I was creating content because I felt like I had to. I wasn’t inspired to post because I wasn’t proud of the work that I was creating. I was posting my #OOTD because every other blogger was posting theirs.
My insights showed that I wasn’t the only one loving my work. Although my follower count was increasing, my insights on each photograph were not showing high engagement rates. I wasn’t proud of my work and it showed.
I went back reviewing some of my old content. In the summer of 2017, I was posting on a regular basis and I was posting content that I loved (and still do). I was using editing styles that not every fashion blogger uses, and I loved that. I never was second guessing, asking myself “should I even post this?” I was posting my meals, my travels, my beach trips, my style, and my life. I was using Instagram as Instagram should be used; to share what you love in ways that you’re proud of.
So, welcome to the new http://www.courtneyjenney.com. Welcome to my blog where I will be publishing content that I love, that I am proud of, and that will hopefully spark creativity and joy. Feedback is always appreciated 🙂
