A Mid-Year Check-In on 2023 Goals

A foggy beach day in Chatham, Massachusetts – on Cape Cod.

With just five and a half months left in the year, I’m taking the time this morning to do a mid-year check-in. It feels like the right time to reassess goals and make a plan for the remainder of the year. Although I think goals can and should be personal, there are a handful I feel excited to share here, in hopes that having them published will hold me more accountable. I’ve had an incredible year thus far professionally and personally, and I know there is so much potential to continue growing. Read on for five goals I hope to achieve over the next few months.

Create a routine.
I consider myself a somewhat routined person, but I’ve had almost no consistent routine in 2023… oops! Going forward, my goal is that whether I’m traveling or at home, I can incorporate a similar morning and evening routine into my each and every day. First up, I’m tackling my morning routine starting tomorrow. If I can consistently create a morning routine that I love, I’ll be sure to keep you all in the know. x

Spend more time in the kitchen.
When we first moved to our apartment, I was baking all of the time. We both cook frequently, but it’s been months since I’ve baked anything. Ant doesn’t have much of a sweet-tooth, so it doesn’t make sense to bake a large quantity. I do love to be creative in the kitchen, though, so I think I’ll set a goal to bake a new treat at least 1x/month.

Be more consistent.
This is needed in almost every aspect of my life…. sounds like a big task, right? Ha. Well, I’m going to start with a goal of publishing on courtneyjenney.com at least 1x/week. My next goal is to share more on YouTube. I realized my last video has over 1,000 views – and while that’s not much in the grand scheme of things, it feels like a lot for someone that hasn’t posted on her channel in a year, cough cough. I’d also love to be more consistent with my routines (see above goal), my health, writing and photography, and so much more.

Make a plan.
I’ve always dreamed of creating my future, but I’ve never made an actual 5-year plan. I’d love to pour a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, sit with a notepad and spreadsheet in front of me, and make a serious plan for the next few years of my life. While I know we can only control so much, I feel thrilled at the thought that I can somewhat plan out my dream life.

Learn more.
2023 has been an incredible year for me professionally, but also personally. I’ve grown a lot, but I feel like I’m just hitting the top of the iceberg. There are so many topics I’m interested in learning more about. I’m in a place where I feel excited to know more. If you have any motivating, positive, educational books that you recommend, I welcome your comments or emails. Thank you in advance!

I’d love to hear about your 2023 goals and where you’re at thus far, too – feel free to answer in the comments below. x
