Weekend Recap: The First Snow & Halloween

Happy November to all! I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween weekend. On Friday, Boston was blessed with our first snowfall. We woke up to big snowflakes falling and to our surprise, it was actually sticking to the ground. Before starting the work day, we took a walk in the fresh-fallen snow. It ended up snowing all day and it was beautiful. Although most people were a bit confused and upset that it was snowing on “Hallow’s Eve,” I had no issues with it at all. Bring on ALL the snow!

On Saturday morning, (which was Halloween), Anthony and I spent the day doing our typical “chores.” I don’t really consider them chores, because things like grocery shopping and cleaning the apartment are all things that I love. I know I’ll be happier once the apartment is clean and the refrigerator/pantry is stocked. We woke up early, bundled up, and began our walk to the grocery store. If we can, we always try to walk there. Our go-to grocery store is a 1.3 mile walk, which is definitely doable for two people in their early twenties. Since we know we’ll probably Uber back with all of our grocery bags and backpacks, it just makes sense to walk there. It was Halloween, so I treated myself to a Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Though, Anthony thought I was crazy for drinking an iced coffee as we walked through the snow… Oh well! We even saw a little snowman on our walk to the store. How cute!

Once we got back from grocery shopping, we baked Halloween cookies and put out a bowl of candy at the doorstep of our apartment complex. We weren’t expecting many trick-or-treaters for a few reasons (COVID, city living, etc…), but the bowl was empty within a few hours! We were so happy.

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween weekend! Happy Monday and if you’re reading this on November 2nd: make sure you VOTE tomorrow, if you haven’t already.
