Ready for Fall

Labor Day has come and gone and this morning, the temperature was 50 degrees. Currently, it’s risen to 61 degrees which still feels like fall weather compared to the 80 degree days I’ve been struggling to get through. If you know me, I’m a cold-weather person through and through. Of course I love the beach and New England summers, but I’d pick fall and winter over spring and summer any day. I’m not sure how true it is, but I’ve heard that your favorite time of the year is related to when you’re born. I’ll be celebrating my birthday in October so, true or not, it applies to me.

I’ve been decorating our apartment with apple scented candles and pumpkin pillows since August. Our apartment feels like an autumn wonderland. It’s festive and cozy inside, but in the past few weeks, as soon as I stepped outside into humidity, I struggled to fully get in the fall “mood.” Sweaters and boots were not in the forecast. The high temperatures weren’t aligning with my “ready for fall” attitude. So now that it’s below 70 degrees, I’ve officially brought out my fall wardrobe and rearranged my closet.

When I saw this dress, I immediately knew I had to have it for the upcoming season. It’s perfect for these warmer, soon-to-be fall days but would also be perfect with tights and riding boots come 40-degree-and-below temperatures. The print is stunning. The dress has a ruffled neck and ruffle sleeves. And, it has pockets. A dream dress for sure. I thought about all the ways to style it: at an apple orchard or maybe a fall brunch, but I just couldn’t wait. SO, I woke up early this morning with Anthony and we went down to the park by our apartment. I couldn’t be happier with how these images turned out. The absolute perfect fall feeling.

For the rest of the day, I’ll be scheduling blog posts, editing photos, working on a few freelance projects, and soaking up this 60 degree weather before tomorrow turns back to 80 degrees..
