A New England Summer

Last summer, I spent June-August in New Jersey, working full-time in New York City. I barely got a glimpse of the ocean (other than one beach day on the Jersey Shore) and my time in New England was limited (a quick weekend getaway in August 2019 to Kennebunkport was the highlight of the summer). This year was a year I’d been waiting for. I knew eventually I’d make it back to Massachusetts, or some part of New England. I was willing to move to pretty much any state in NE, as long as the right opportunity presented itself. I didn’t imagine it would happen so soon, but I am so grateful that it did. If you’re confused at all right now, I suggest you read my “We’re Moving” blog post to catch you up!

There’s truly nothing like New England and although I’m in a city now, we’re still right by the water. It feels like a mix of the Cape, parts of Maine, and a city, all mixed into one. Truly nothing better. I’ve shared endless photos of the beautiful New England on my Instagram, but they needed a more permanent place to stay.

So, here you go friends! Some of my favorite snapshots thus far of my spontaneous, unpredictable, first summer back in New England.

Pictured Above: A cup of clam chowder on the beach, truly nothing better! | A pretty sunny beach day on the Cape, one of the first beach days of the season. | A photo of Boston Light! We went out on our friends new boat (socially distanced and outdoors) and it was such a fun day and pretty view! | Ant & I at the Chart Room on the Cape, celebrating my moms birthday! (It was our first time at a restaurant since they had all opened!)

Pictured Above: A pretty beach house that we passed on our walk to the beach. | The most beautiful pink blooms hanging over a white fence! At Twin Acres Ice Cream Shoppe in Sandwich, MA! | An abundance of blue hydrangeas… 100% obsessed! | Another photo of Boston Light. So beautiful!

Pictured Above: Purple and pink hydrangeas growing right outside the Battery Wharf Hotel in Boston. Such bright colors! | A single sailboat during one of our Boston sunrise walks. | More sailboats! 🙂 | A delicious frozen drink at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel in Falmouth.

Pictured Above: Ant on our friends boat! Other than a ferry we took while we were in Florida in 2017, he had never been on a boat! | Ant and I in my car doing our first “drive-by celebration” when those were a big thing at the beginning of the pandemic. Although it was raining, we were so excited to surprise my best friends younger sister for her high school graduation! Also, I should mention… This was clearly before salons and barbers were open… Ant’s hair is on another level lol! | Another beach day… It just HAD to be documented! | Ant and I in Falmouth at the Quarter Deck restaurant! One of the best outdoor seating setups & such a great menu!
