A Toast to March

Sometimes, I’ll spend time looking through my camera roll to see what photos I’ve taken over the last few weeks. And usually, I’m pleasantly surprised with all of the memories I’ve captured. Over the weekend, I found myself thinking, “I didn’t do much in March. Actually.. I can’t even remember if I did anything other than work, eat, sleep, workout, and the occasional Starbucks or Trader Joes run.”

So, I took a look at my camera roll and realized how much I did do. Even the simple things count: watching the sunset, baking chocolate chip cookies, meeting up with friends for St. Patrick’s Day, and more.

So, at the end/beginning of every month I’ve decided to do a little “toast” to the previous month, sharing a compilation of not-so-Instagram-worthy or aesthetically pleasing photos.

Cheers to you, March! You served me well.

The month started off with snow on the ground, per usual. Although most of the time spent outside was in below-freezing temperatures, it was so nice to get fresh air and see these beautiful views.

I made corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots for our St. Patrick’s Day dinner. It was actually a simple dinner recipe, and we both loved it. Ant and I agree a full Irish dinner should be enjoyed more often.

Ant and I both used to work in New York City, on opposite ends. After work, we would meet somewhere in the middle for happy hour. We both WFH now, so we rarely go out during the week. But, we decided to head to A&B Kitchen right by TD Garden one afternoon to change up our weekly routine. It was a simple, fun, spur-of-the-moment decision.

When St. Patrick’s Day weekend rolled around, we had plans with friends. So, that called for green food coloring in everything: drinks, desserts, you name it! Pictured above is just a White Claw seltzer with a little bit of food coloring. 🤣

It’s funny how warm it looks in this photo. I can confirm I was in a winter hat, winter coat, and gloves. But, that didn’t stop me from getting my Vitamin D and enjoying my favorite book of March, Live in Love by Lauren Akins.

Cookies were baked, sunsets were watched.

We saw the first few signs of spring… Along with still needing to wear winter gloves. Oh well!

Lastly, from this weekend. More reading was done, I have just been loving this book (linked here). I stayed up until 11:30pm last night reading it… Worth it? Ask me after my second cup of coffee today!
