How I’m Styling Our Bar Cart

I have wanted a bar cart since we moved into our apartment. From day 1, we just didn’t think we had the space. But, the holidays came and went and the corner where we had our Christmas tree just seemed so empty and bare once the tree was gone. We couldn’t think of anything more fitting to put in that space than a bar cart! We’re obviously not entertaining right now nor do we keep an abundance of alcohol in our apartment, but it’s such a fun piece of decor and really brings the room together.

Our apartment has a very coastal, clean, “New England” theme. The blankets, pillows, and rugs are all shades of navy and light blue, our furniture is mainly rattan/wicker, and our cabinets and TV stand are all white. So, when I started searching for the “perfect” bar cart to fit in our apartment, I was struggling. I love the classic look of a gold bar cart that so many people seem to have, but it just wasn’t going to work with our space. So, when I stumbled upon this Rattan Bar Cart from West Elm, I was in love, until I saw the price tag. I’m sure it’s an excellent investment and really high quality, but spending over $500 on a decorative piece of furniture just wasn’t something we were going to do.

I continued searching and was shocked when I found this Rattan Bar Cart from TARGET. It is the perfect size for our apartment, a quarter of the price of the West Elm bar cart, and of course – it was rattan! I was so surprised it was still in stock and within 3 days, it arrived – fully put together. There was NO instructions, no tools needed, nothing. After putting together 75% of the furniture in our apartment, this was like a dream come true.

We just got it a week or so ago, so I haven’t totally styled it yet – but I’ve shared my inspiration and a little mock-up below! The only thing I know for sure is we’ll have lots of bubbles 😉 Whether it be champagne or sparkling water, anything bubbly is always my go-to. Let me know your thoughts!
