I’ve been wanting to try more clean skincare and beauty brands, so I was thrilled when the Follain team sent me some beauty and skincare products to try. Over the last few years I’ve shifted my skincare routine to cleaner products, mostly from Beautycounter. While I’ve loved just about every Beautycounter item I’ve tried (skincare AND beauty), I’ve been loving incorporating new products into my daily routines. As far as new-to-me products go, for skincare I’ve been reaching for Follain products and for beauty, I’ve been loving ILIA products. Browse some of my summer favorites below!
Follain Resurfacing Body Scrub: Purify + Polish
I love using an exfoliator, especially in the summertime. After a long day outside, I’m usually covered in sunscreen, salt water, and probably sweat? TMI, oh well. I’ve been using this one 2-3 times per week and have nothing negative to say about it. There’s a light citrus scent to it (all made of natural oils) but it’s almost nonexistent. I can 100% feel a difference in my skin (body only, not meant for your face!) after I use this.. It’s smoother and feels refreshed.
Follain Hydrating Cleanser: Purify + Nourish
I’m pretty loyal to my Beautycounter Cleanser as it’s scentless and delicate on the skin, but I wanted to give this Follain Hydrating Cleanser a try and I’m glad I did. First, I love that it comes in a pump and I love that it’s moisturizing. Some cleansers leave my skin feeling tight and dry after using them, but this one and the Beautycounter one are both incredibly hydrating. My only downfall with the Follain Cleanser is that it does have a scent, described as a “refreshingly light citrus scent derived from natural extracts of Lemon, Grapefruit and Tangerine.” I prefer facial products to be scentless, as I have sensitive skin. I’ve had no issues using this product, but just a general PSA if you do prefer scentless products.
Follain Firming Serum: Collagen Boost
I’ve only given this serum one try, so not much to share as of now. I’m excited to see if I notice any changes, though. Will report back!
Follain Moisturizer: Replenish + Protect
I’ve used this moisturizer over the last few days and have been loving it. Though, I’ll report back if I still love it in a few weeks! So far, so good.
I think this might be one of my new favorite products. I’ve been wearing it daily. It’s SPF 40, which gets bonus points from me! It’s a lighter coverage skin tint, but it’s definitely buildable if you wanted a fuller coverage. I’ve been wearing shade Formosa (ST-4) which is described as, “Light with neutral warm undertones.” Although it’s a bit more expensive than some skin tints or foundations, I only use a pea size amount to cover my whole face so I’m hopeful this product will last throughout winter and maybe into next spring.
Another favorite of mine! This multi-stick is genius. It’s crafted to be used on your face as a cream blush or bronzer, but it can also be used on your lips or eyelids. I’ve been wearing shade “In The Mood – golden peach pearl” and have been putting it on my cheeks and nose, on top of my skin tint. It adds such a sun-kissed shimmer!
