We’ve lived in our Boston apartment for a handful of years now; this summer marks our 4th. While it’s not our forever, I’ve always wanted it to feel like home. When we first moved in I found such delight designing each space, and I still find such joy in decorating for each season; soon it will be pumpkins and gourds and then, it will be garland and a brightly lit tree. While I will continue these seasonal traditions, our kitchen hasn’t received many updates in our four summers here. I know we won’t be here forever, and we likely won’t be here for too much longer… but there’s something so necessary about living and working in a space that feels aligned with your personal style and dreams. So, I’m thrilled to share what I envision as my dream kitchen area. Similar to the above inspiration visual, though in a 500 sq. ft. apartment… and with a few more dark green features. Oh, and wooden hardware in lieu of the gold hardware as shown above. I think? Coastal, but not nautical. English Countryside, but not rustic. Let’s call it; coastal countryside. I’m drawn to natural, wooden features, a mixture of olive green and natural blue, and minimal clutter.
And though I love every bit of living in the city, Ant and I spend so much time dreaming of the suburbs. Our ‘countryside’ day will come…
